What’s New
The Sure Send Zapier app now ships two new triggers:
- Tag Added to Contact — fires when a specific tag you choose is added to a contact.
- Tag Removed from Contact — fires when that tag is removed.
Each trigger gives you a tag picker right in the Zap editor. The Zap fires only for the tag you picked, so you no longer need a downstream Filter step. Leave the tag picker blank to fire on every tag added (or removed) on any contact.
Why It Matters
Until now, the closest pattern was Updated Contact + a Zapier Filter that checked the contact’s tag list. That workaround fires every time anything else on the contact changes — an email update, a phone edit, a new note — so any contact that already has the target tag re-triggers the Zap on every later edit and creates duplicate records downstream (duplicate Revaluate contacts, duplicate Salesforce leads, duplicate HubSpot deals, …).
The new tag triggers fire exactly once when the tag is added, and never on unrelated contact edits. That makes tag-driven pushes to Revaluate, RealScout, Salesforce, HubSpot, and similar systems safe to build.
Known Limitation
These triggers do not fire for tags applied through Sure Send’s bulk-tag action (the multi-select “Add Tag” on the People list). Bulk-applied tags continue to use the existing bulk webhook envelope. We’ll surface bulk operations through dedicated triggers in a follow-up.
