Email Credits
Email Credits
The Credits page is available to Owners only.
Purpose: Email Credits pay for email sent through Sure Send's built-in email sending service. If you send through your own connected email account instead, those emails do not use credits.

How Email Credits work
Each email sent through Sure Send's built-in email service uses one credit, no matter how many people are on it. Newsletters are the exception: they use one credit per recipient.
Uses Email Credits (built-in email service only)
- Emails to a contact: sent right away or scheduled, from the web app or the mobile app.
- Inbox replies and forwards.
- Newsletters: one credit per recipient.
- Automation emails: including emails sent to a team member or a related contact.
- Connect: invite emails, saved-search alerts, home value reports, and listing emails.
- Appointment emails sent to your clients.
- API and MCP: emails sent through the Sure Send API or the Sure Send MCP connector.
Does not use Email Credits
- Your own email account: emails sent through a connected Gmail, Outlook, or SMTP account, or through your own SendGrid or Mailgun account.
- Sure Send system emails: such as password resets and notifications.
- Refer & Earn invites.
If your Email Credits run out
Sure Send lets up to 50 more emails go out after your balance reaches zero, so your sending does not stop all at once. After that, emails through the built-in service stop until you add credits. Nothing is queued to send later.
- Newsletters: you'll see a warning before you send if you do not have enough credits. If a newsletter runs out partway through, the campaign stops and is marked failed.
- Automation emails: the email step fails with a message that your Email Credits are depleted, along with your current balance.
Tip: Turn on Auto Top-up for Email Credits on the Credits page. You choose a balance threshold and an amount, and Sure Send adds credits automatically when you reach it.
Refunds
If an email is rejected at the moment it is sent, the credit goes back to your balance automatically. An email that is accepted for delivery and later bounces still uses its credit.
Buying Email Credits and expiration
Email Credits are not included in Sure Send plans. You buy them on the Credits page as you need them. Purchased Email Credits expire 365 days after purchase. When credits are within 30 days of expiring, the Email Credits card on the Credits page shows how many and when.
Email Credits on your Credits page
- Credits Breakdown: the Email Credits card shows how many credits you have available.
- Your Credit Types: the Email Credits card shows the cost per credit, your current balance, and the Buy Credits and Auto Top-up buttons. Empty means you have no credits left. Low means you have fewer than 100, or you have reached your auto top-up threshold.
- Recent Transactions: each email shows as a usage line, such as Email sent via managed provider, Email sent via automation (managed provider), or Email sent via newsletter campaign (managed provider).
